CHRISTMAS 2025 FINANCIAL RESULTS

We are thrilled to announce that Farnsfield Foodbank activities in November and December beat all previous years.

We were able to pass on a total of £6,074.85 - £1,000 more than we raised in 2024.

An amazing result and we must say THANK YOU FARNSFIELD. Your support has been amazing and will give help to so many families in need.

This sum included the proceeds from the two street collections in December and sales of the raffle tickets. Our thanks go to all the supporters and businesses who donated prizes and added to our collections. We couldn't do this without all your support.

THANKS AGAIN FARNSFIELD

Over £6,000 raised for the Foodbank this Christmas and a huge amount of food and toiletries collected during our street collections. These are all in addition to donations left in the Church porch. We wouldn't be able to do what we do without the support of local businesses and individuals all year round.

YOUR SUPPORT HAS MADE A HUGE DIFFERENCE

A Farnsfield based team helping support those in need with donations of food and household necessities.

We're a small team of volunteers, based in Farnsfield, who collect donations from St Michael's church porch daily and weekly from Atherley's Bakery, Hamilton's Butchers, Farnsfield Co-Op and Hill’s of Edingley. Weekly deliveries are then made to the team at Life Spring Centre, Ollerton, who in turn deliver hampers to those in need in the area.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

You can support the work of Farnsfield Foodbank Support Group by leaving donations of food and household necessities in the porch at St Michael's church in Farnsfield. You can also donate cash at Atherley's Bakery, Hamilton's Butchers and Hill's of Edingley, which will be converted in to food for delivery by our team to Ollerton Life Spring Foodbank. If you're shopping at Farnsfield Co-Op you can buy something extra and donate it at the till, the Co-Op team will then pass it on to our volunteers.

WHO GETS HELP AND WHY?

Those in need are referred for emergency help by social services, schools, help groups, churches and other organisations. People can refer themselves for help.

Your donations and gifts frequently help support people who’ve lost their jobs or their home. Often, after a violent relationship breakdown, families need help to get back on track.

It’s short-term help (maximum of three weeks) to help people through a tough time until other agencies can be organised.

Hampers of food and essentials are prepared - the aim is to give food for the family to cover them for five days. Hampers are delivered out from Ollerton and Warsop and can go to anyone who needs short term help. Local people get help in Farnsfield, Ollerton, Warsop, Edwinstowe and surrounding villages.

Support really does reach people in need.

HELPING THOSE IN NEED

Many are struggling at this time, having to make difficult decisions between heating their home or feeding their family, and receiving this short term help can really make a difference.

Circumstances can change very quickly; a sudden loss of income, a relationship breakdown, losing the roof over your head or mental health struggles. Any of these become a major catastrophe where people need help. Being able to access this emergency support is essential.

People need the basics to get through a tough time.

The simple things that can make all the difference when you're struggling to feed a famiiy.

Tins of beans or vegetables, soup, even coffee, tea, squash, pasta, cook in sauces and breakfast cereals. Anything that can be cooked easily and quickly and has a good shelf life.
